There's no reason this AUR couldn't be built to handle that I think, unless the AUR philosophy is to not allow for that sort of thing? Anyway the official virtualbox has updated so now we can use this version of the extension pack again, hooray? The builds and checksums are all in easy to find places on their server. ![]() Personally I think the Oracle has the packages up stream we should have one AUR and it detect your version of virtualbox and then download and build the version based on that. ![]() ![]() They have an email connected to this site (an arch email, which I didn't know existed) and I privately emailed, offering to help out with this and improve the PKGBUILD file. However, this is not exactly clear, and there are eight pages of comments from 2011, so it would be perhaps more polite to address our concerns in a new pinned comment. I agree that there should be a version dependency, but I'm not sure if the maintainer is ignoring these numerous comments because of their pinned comment.
